For some reason, the term "non-pro-christian" gives me a headache. WTF does that mean? Their policies don't promote Christianity? That would good. Their policies are actively anti-christian? That would be bad. Their policies don't jibe with some of the draconian, intolerant morality xians derive from the bible? Good as well, as long as they're not promoting murder.

Examples, please? And examples of what you would rather see?
imagine a body of people that puts out 100 agendas. 80 of them specifically contain anti-christian mandates. 20 of them talk about coffee beans.

for me to say "ALL of their agendas are anti-christian" would be false...and you would be the first to point it out.

so I am forced to adapt the lesser desirable "All of them are non pro-christian."

I echo Mageth's call for examples, please. As a parent of a public school educated child in the same state, I'm quite interested.

Ok, little troll. Show us a few of these "anti-Christian" agendas. I have a good feeling that you have blown them out of proportion.

80 of them specifically contain anti-christian mandates.

Surely, if there's so many, you can produce at least one exemplary "anti-christian mandate" for our perusal. Pick the best you know of. You must know of some; otherwise, how could you make this claim?

no. i am no ones research caddy. and if you don't believe me, i wont lose sleep over it.

No one's asking you to be a "research caddy". We're asking you for an example to back up your assertion. No examples, and your asserition falls into the bullshit pile.

Here's a link to the Washington Education Association, the state branch of the National Education Asociation. I'll take a noodle and see if I find anything interesting.

edited to add: I dunno, some folks of my acquaintance may find this offensive: Thinking Skills

Quote:
As a parent you can help foster your child's thinking skills in a number of ways:

* Encourage your children to ask questions about the world around them.

*When reading to or with young children, ask them to imagine what will happen next in the story.

* Actively listen to your children's conversation, responding seriously and nonjudgmentally to the questions they raise.

* When your children express feelings, ask why they feel that way.

* Suggest that your children find facts to support their opinions, and then encourage them to locate information relevant to their opinions.

* Use entertainment -- a TV program or a movie -- -as the basis of family discussions.

* Use daily activities as occasions for learning. For example, instead of sending a child to the store with a simple list of items to purchase, talk with the child first about how much each item might cost, how much all the items might total and estimate how much change s/he should receive.

* Reward your children for inquisitive and/or creative activity that is productive.

* Ask your children what questions their teachers are raising in class. For example, a history class might be "asking" how American westward expansion began.
Thinking, questioning, imagining... bad bad things, according to some folks.

Do you seriously think I stated that particular analogy as a matter of fact?

are you aware of illustrations....figures of speech? I understand the pleasure and satisfaction you may receive by not allowing an irrational "xian" any ability to use tools of the english language to make points, but I assure you, I will not return that dis-service to you.

Talking

xian, there's no way for me to say something slowly online, so I'm simply going to request that you read the next sentence slowly, and maybe read it over a few times.

I enjoy arguing about Christianity.

Got it?

That should settle any garbage going through your mind about atheists being "chained to Christianity". Something tells me it won't, but it should. Your myths fascinate me, and the way you do mental gymnastics to maintain belief in them fascinates me even more.
