I heard on the news that a prophecy in the Bible(the gospel of John, I believe. I'm sure you folks know the Bible much better than I do) describes a situation very similar to what is happening in Bethlehem right now. Ie; at Easter, Bethlehem would be under seige, and that the streets would be empty because the people are afraid to leave their homes.

Any thoughts/comments?

More than likely, this is just what Judeo-Xian fundies all over the world want: an easy simplification of a complex real-world event into one-dimensional Biblical nonsense so that they can justify the conflicts, at least in their own minds.
