Pope says child abuse is a crime......
.... No fooling? What is next? Murder a crime? How about rape or armed robbery? What an astute observation.
Can anyone believe what has happened? All the cardinals of the US CC fly to the Vatican for a medieval costume party with a pope who was brought into the room in a golden chair. Hey, they have the right to dress up how they want and play religion, but what has come of it? Nothing! They couldn't decide on a course of action, even though the holy father said diddling was a crime,(no fooling?). Wake up over there cards and pope! If a priest touches a child he should be turned over to the police. End of story, fathers! No more protecting the scum priests, just the slammer for them. They can't even decide that. This is a utter disaster for the church. This is a paralyzed and crippled institution. |

From a CNN article:
"It would also set up a special process for removing any priest who has "become notorious and is guilty of the serial, predatory, sexual abuse of minors." In cases where a priest is not considered notorious, the local bishop would decide whether he is a threat to children and should be dismissed." So to be removed by default, a priest has to be a notorious, serial predatory abuser? Otherwise his bishop gets to decide? "Well, Father Dildo only had sex with ONE 10-year-old boy, and we've kept it quiet. Let's let him stay to see how things work out!" [ April 24, 2002: Message edited by: Mageth ]</p> |

I guess this thing is really taking off. Priests getting busted right and left.
I was never catholic, but why is it so important to have an intermediary between God and yourself? Are they supposed to be chosen by God to teach people how to live? |

<Awards ceremony>
Hello, I'm Billy Crystal. Our next award is for the biggest Statement of the Obvious. Our nominees are: The whole world for "Bush is an idiot." The Resistance for "Britney Spears is popular because of her looks, not for her musical talent." Pope John Paul II for "Pedopihlia is a crime." and Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura for "Organized religion is a crutch for the weak-minded." And the winner is.... <drumroll> The Pope for "Pedophilia is a crime." <Pope gasps. Gets up and runs to the stage. Stupid hat falls off. The Resistance growls in anger and slouches in his seat. TV switches to new Pepsi commerical with Briney Spears.> |

I'll be honest.
It was Easter sunday I'd arranged to go over to my parents' house for lunch, which is a regular thing for me on a sunday. This particular Sunday, it was more important for me to get there earlier, cause my sister was visiting and I hadn't seen her or the family in several months. The Pope's Easter service began on the TV. The clock ticked by. I became transfixed. "Could he really be still alive?" my inner voice was saying "That doesn't look like a well, or even live, man......." So it was, I was an hour late for lunch. At that time, the most recent proclamation of his I had heard of was that the internet should be controlled or banned cause it enables freethought (paraphrased by me, obviously). Now, I value human life and wouldn't wish harm on anyone, but as I watched that hunched up old man mumbling into his microphone, I couldn't help thinking "Wouldn't it be great if he died on TV?!" |

--You know why all the priests and cardinals are getting in trouble? Because I've been sneaking around and putting smashed up Viagra pills in their food.
--Can you imagine devoting your whole life to something that you're not sure exists? I can't go 2 weeks without sex or masturbation, let alone my entire life. --Why get a child? -- Just go get a hooker...it's a lot easier to get away with in real life, but you know; You got the big guy upstairs watchin' you! In the words of Matt Damon in Dogma, "Do it and I'll fucking spank you!!!". --In regards to the Pope, what the hell is up with him wanting his hand kissed? I'm a Marine, and we know what it is to show respect, but I'll be "damned"(no pun intended) if I kiss someone's hand. If he held out his hand, I'd pull down my pants and tell him to kiss 'you know what' first. Damn that gets on my nerves......fucking pope. --Sorry for ranting....... FaithNoMore |
