You either quit or are asked to step down, or both. Depending of course on a multitude of reasons.

It used to be that all banned members posts were visible, and just the word banned appeared under their name, the only exceptions were the cases of Trolls who's posts were either too offensive or had no value and seved no purpose in the public forums for all to read.
