I buried that story in the Dr. Pepper thread a while ago. Should have started its own thread like you did... it's a goodie.

"My impression of him? He's no dummy, but I'm not sure what drives him," said Downes, who met Kahle for the first time two weeks ago and says they had a brief, civil conversation. "He has a thing against Christianity. I sometimes wonder if he's just using the separation-of-church-and-state issue just to bash the church."
There those Christians go again, playing the victim. What's Kahle's activism got to do with "bashing the church"? This guy Downes makes no sense. First he says he's "not sure what drives [Kahles]. Then he attributes Kahles' activism to "a thing against Christianity".

Thumbs up

Holy shit! The guy is an atheist, a bold civil rights activist,and he plays a fretless six-string bass in a jazz combo. We may have found the Ubermensch, folks.

Check out his Aug. 4 letter to the Hawaii Board of Education at <a href="http://www.atheists.org/flash.line/evol17.htm." target="_blank">www.atheists.org/flash.line/evol17.htm.</a> It could serve as an excellent model for infidels to use if their own states or local school boards flirt with subverting science education standards.

science education standards.</strong>
I am an open atheist, write letters to the editor, and play five-string-banjo. Am I the Mittelmensch?

Strel: Not unless you're a wholesaler. Besides, the banjo is kind of cool. &lt;ducks&gt;
