Default Manna-Insect poop from Heaven

Manna is described as a flaky, edible "bread". The ancient Israelites apparentally believed it was bread from Heaven, and either ate it on the Exodus or incorporated it into Exodus narrative(Since the Exodus probably did not happen). According to the Oxford bible, Manna is not from Heaven, but from little insects.

"The description here corressponds fairly closely to the Carbohydrate rich excretion of two-scale insects which feed on the twigs of the Tamarisk tree".

So here's another "Miracle" that can be explained away by science, and is somewhat a little goofy as well.(Then again, Dung beetles were sacred in Egypt) Since Jesus himself compares himself to the Manna,(Since he is spiritual "bread from Heaven"), doesn't this hurt his credibility as well?

Well, I for one don't even beleive exodus represents and real history. SO there really wasn't much to explain away in the first place.

But, this is a little goofy indeed. Imagine how many insects there would have to have been to poop that much to feed that many people. Yuck, makes me sick just thinking about it!

Interesting story though.

Personally, I prefer the old theory that manna was actually a type of mushroom indigenous to the area. A nice mind-bending mushroom.

Hmmmm......shrooooooms.....mmmmmmm...........

Manna was Saltine Crackers. When the Israelites spies came back from Jericho with tales of a light and fluffy yellow cracker that was superior to "Manna" the Jewish leaders decided they wanted some too. This was known as the Ritz Cracker War. Of course it's not in the Bible. There's things they don't want us to know...
