Actually, during my forays into this board, I have often wondered similar things, luvluv. Why use logic and science to argue a question of faith? But after reading alot more, I come to understand that many people with such faith seem to think faith is and should be universal. They argue what they feel is obvious -- blind to the fact that there is no foundation. I am glad to see some of these arguments (though many seem to be easy sport for the sharp wits on this board!). If you are "a believer", luvluv, you should continue to read and really try to understand. It may make your faith stronger or not, but it will certainly make you more aware. |

I am concerned about how much talk exists here about "the", "a", "an", "is", "are" and "not".

the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ, our personal savior, and subconciously you're begging for someone like me to come here and bring you back into the fold" I for one, am fascinated by ancient history. I'm tired of regular television (after you hit 30 you begin to realize they're all the same old plots over and over again). So I watch the educational channels, and I love seeing the new information gleaned from archeology, etc. Since Judeo-Christian culture is so predominant in the US, it only follows that it should be an area to be focused on. People like to know the truth. I am passionate about knowing the truth, and with the advent of modern scientific method we are finally capable of discerning myth from reality of the past. Since the early beginnings of Christianity (and indeed the Jewish faith as well) in reality are more like a good consipiracy theory, it only follows that it should be of so much interest. |
