As for the one verse that does come from the Qur'an, few muslims that I've met seem to take those verses sexually. How Muhammed meant it, we may never know. |

The rest of the Web site goes a long way toward trying to equate the religion of Islam with the reign and zealotry of the Taliban.
And really, nothing they quote from the Quran or even Khomeini is any worse that what you can find somewhere in the Bible or spouted by one of "Christ's followers". (Koresh and Jones come to mind.) Quote:

Echo,
I agree with your statements. Falwell, though, is not the religious leader of an entire nation. A lot of people agree with him but I would venture to say that they are in the minority. It disturbs me that things like this are not generally known and that moderate muslims do not loudly denounce such statements. I originally posted this link in this thread in partial response to smugg's comment. Peace, Janaya On a humerous sidenote (if anything on that page can be considered humorous) wouldn't you be just a bit suspicious of 'meat' from the next village over? Eeewww. |

Deadbeat,
Just FYI, they also have this web site. And I agree that you can find just as many bad things about Christianity. I think that Christianity has more or less evolved into a 'gentler, kinder' religion, at least in the West, but Islam, for the most part, has not. Just curious, what do you find racist about that statement? (I'm probably just being an idiot in not seeing it.) Peace, Janaya |

ageofreason2000,
You could be right. I have not verified that the quotes are genuine, which is one reason I wanted to discuss it. I do not know why you couldn't register. I successfully registered on their sister site. (See above post.) I think that HelenM is registered on that site as well, though it could be a different Helen. I haven't actually asked her. Isn't anyone else interested in discussing this?
