Penn & Teller's Show Tonight on Creationism
Hi, everyone.
This forum is not my usual hang-out, but I thought I would make sure everyone heard about this: Penn & Teller's *Bullshit* show is on tonight at 10:00 Central time on Showtime (cable TV). Tonight's theme is Creationism So, if anyone would enjoy seeing Creationism debunked on mainstream cable (even if it only grazes the surface for the lowest common denominator audience), tune in. |

A few weeks ago, I got to hang out backstage with Penn & Teller. They told us about the upcoming show on creationism. I don't want to spoil it, but we were laughing hysterically. You will love the way they handle the creationism vs. evolution "debate".
Find a way to watch it. Hell, check into a motel with Showtime if you have to . THOUGHTfully Yours, Clark |

I didn't think it was that good. I wasn't expecting any indepth analysis of creationist stupidity, but I was expecting some great mudslinging. I would have loved it if they called Gish a stupid old bastard, or something.
The show was rather tame and didn't really provide much info. For instance, the old Lady Hope myth came up. The guy "quoted" Darwin's words and everything, and it was only refuted by the assertion that it is ridiculous that Darwin would abandon his views. Nothing is mentioned about the source of the claim. It's a shame because effectively debunking it wouldn't have taken up any more time than that women merely asserting how ridiculous the idea is. All in all, I didn't find it very entertaining. |

I wish they had showed a stack of submitted scientific papers for evolution vs those that even mention creation or "intelligent design". 135,000 to 18 (over 3 years) and none of the 18 made a real scientific case for creationism......would have made a nice show of force had they physically shown evidence in its physical form. Might be difficult to even fit them in the room though. It's not even that tons are rejected for creation, only 68 over 3 years were submitted.
Woulda been great. Enjoyed it none-the-less. The people who agreed to be interviewed (who were pro creation) must be pissed off. |

BTW, you can get to their messageboards by going to http://www.sho.com/ptbs. Just click on the "community" link, and you can get to their messageaboards from there. They have one board for each show, and the Creationism show seems to have a struck a nerve.
