The definition of God certainly exists in our minds, and I am a Christian who believes in a God. I know my definition of God is different from other Christians.

How ever if God exists, he will know for sure what he is.

Peace

I think it's great that god rides a horse instead of a Mercedes Benz, and his angels fight with chariots instead of heavenly helicopters and humvees.

It's no wonder the second coming isn't happening, god waited too long and lost the cold war. We're on our own unless he can figure out a way to get the fundies to accept a new version of Revelations that lets him use tanks and cruise missles.

I could easily see the argument made that we have free will because God isn't all powerful if ya take the O.T. at face value.
God is shocked, shocked when he sees what Adam & Eve does. Satan dissapears from God's presence. God needs to send his Angels down to Soddom because he isn't absolutely sure if the people there are as evil as he thinks they are. Sarah dissapears from the kitchen where he and Abraham are breaking bread, and God has to have Abraham tell him where Sarah took off to, because God frankly doesn't know.

From this you can take the point that we have limited free will due to the fact that God's vision and powers are limited, so we are free agents in the sense that children are, whose parents can not physically monitor them 24 hours a day.
But most christians believe that god is all powerful and all knowing. Hey when I was a christian I did too. I just don't understand how christians resolve that issue because that was my major breaking point with christianity. I couldn't resolve the idea of free will with the idea of an all powerful god. I would have a much easier time accepting a limited god that can't control everything and isn't all powerful. Just an entity that is more powerful than us. Who is to say that a species like, forgive me for refrencing star trek, Q could exist. Who knows. But if thats the case I'm not worshiping it.

Xixax, the believers beat you to this kind of argument.
Hindu forums are regularly flooded with such arguments by muslims. In Hinduism the last avatar who will bring apocalypse rides a horse and uses a sword. So muslims tell them that the age of horses and swords are past. Muhammad used horses and swords and so Hindus should realize Muhammad is the last avatar and become muslims. :banghead:

Wow, that's some seriously convoluted circular logic.
