Apostasizing (sp?) could have some importance in Spain. Here the catholic sects receive funds (yes, from taxes) based on the number of catholics in the country, or what´s the same, the number of baptised people. Of couse, there´s a procedure to erase your name from the records, but the church doesn´t make it easy.

I've had "That Thing" done to me as an infant and as I see it, IMHO, more pleasing to the eye. I am sure it wasn't a religious act, must have been the trend of the times.

It is probably more pleasing to your eye because that is what you are accustomed to seeing. If you had grown up seeing a foreskin on your penis, you would probably prefer that look.

Don't know how "dignified" you want it to be, but I have a few ideas for nasty ones (here's hoping they're not so elaborate they require undue pain):

(1) Bomb heading for or hitting baptismal font

(2) Baptismal font shaped like toilet

(3) Y'know those mean-looking little boys on the back of cars who look like they're peeing on something or are about to? How about one of them peeing into a baptismal font?

(4) An angry-looking lamb aiming a bazooka at a baptismal font. Its T-shirt is emblazoned, "GODWHACKER" (thank you, Steely Dan!)

Less nasty:

(5) Baptismal font with sign: "SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK"

(6) A gym-hardened body proudly flexing its muscles, with a whole brain where its head would be. Next to it is a baptismal font with a chain and shackles; the handcuff is clearly broken.

Well, this might not be for you but my way of 'undoing' my baptism was to legally change my name.

Of course, I never liked my original name anyway, so I managed to kill two birds with one stone!
