Please stay on topic and stop picking fights with each other. Gemma, I know this is an emotional issue for you and that you have hands-on knowledge of the issues, but if you want to nitpick please do so in private.

Thanks.

Shit, Gemma, that's too easy. Just take a look at the Buddhist faith, which has had charitable institutions across East, North, South and Central Asia for two thousand years, outcompeted Christianity, saved thousands of more lives than the RCC, which after all was confined to Europe until about 1500, and did all of that charity work without an inquisitions, religious butchery, religious wars, suppression of competing religions, destruction of local cultures, intolerance of heretics and so on.

So in fact, the various Buddhist charitable organizations in Asia have done far, far more charitable work than any Christian organization, and all without killing too. Pretty amazing, eh?

Not really, when you think of Father Damiem, Maximillian Kolbe, Mother Teresa, Perpetua and Felicity, St. Maria Goretti, Katharine Drexel, Elizabeth Ann Seton, Mother Cabrini, Catherine of Siena, Therese of Lisieux, Teresa of Avila, Thomas Aquinas, St. Francis, St. Dominic, St. Rose of Lima, to name a small few.

Not to mention the millions of men and women who have dedicated their lives to God's service over the centuries, while living in abject poverty, and the convents and monestaries that shielded Jews during WWII.

Remember we all live in history. We make judgements in the moment based on what we see and how we evaluate with the limitations of our faith and understanding. We can all rewrite history once we know the outcome.

Thumbs down

Gemma has succeeded in getting us into yet another digression. We should be discussion those priestly child molesters. I guess many Roman Catholic are desperate because they or their colleagues might be prosecuted for child molestation of for failing to report child molestation.
That's why Gemma and Amos have been asked to do everything they can to introduce digressions.

Your prescription may be okay but get rid of the rose colored lenses.

Only by the protestants who have been dissecting him ever since. We just call him John Huss.
