Default Self baptism not valid

According to this site, Internet Question Box (run by a catholic), self baptism is invalid.
Quote:
However, for those in situations where no one is available who is willing to baptize a person, God will not hold this against him, but will count his desire for baptism in place of the baptism itself and give him the grace anyway. This is because God loves us and wants us to have his grace, even when the normal method of communicating it is unavailable.
Picky, picky, so why not allow self baptism?

They're probably afraid that people will drown themselves if not properly supervised.

It's typical RC. Forget scripture, we're gonna make up our own rules and regs.

Default Baptism

A couple of notes about baptism:

1) Self-baptism into Christ is invalid because the act involves among other things confessing (acknowledging) before others belief that Jesus is the Son of God.

2) A shower is not even "baptism" according to the meaning of the Greek word, which is "to immerse", "to bury", "to submerge".

Isn't God watching and isn't acknowledging it to Him the important thing? I've always heard that Christianity was about someone's personal relationship with God, not about trying to look holy infront of your friends.

What about a bath then?
