Question Nietzsche question

has the authenticity of Nietzsche's purported final work My Sister and I been verified or debunked? if not, what is the consensus opinion, forgery, or the real Mcoy?

wondering...

The manuscript in the fritz's handwriting or a copy of levy's translation (who surprisingly died before the work was published)are not available. So all in all, the consensus would be that it is most probably a hoax.

According to Walter Kaufmann (the master Nietzsche translator), Ecce Homo was his final work.

And further according to Kaufmann, My Sister and I is a hoax. He has some evidence to offer for this in his Nietzsche: philosopher, psychologist, antichrist (at least in the third edition; possibly in the earlier ones, too) as well as in his reviews of My Sister and I.

I know of one essay published in mid-80s where Kaufmann was criticized for dismissing the book as a hoax too hastily, since his evidence was allegedly insubstantial. (I think the author still agreed that the book's origins are spurious at the very least.) In any case, judging from the fact that My Sister and I is mentioned virtually in no recent (scholarly) work on Nietzsche, scholars seem to agree with Kaufmann on this.
