So, has your sex life become better since deconverting?
I know mine certainly has. (And, yes, I do think there is a correlation there.) |

Religion never really played a part in my sex life. But I think that not ever being threatened with hell for getting laid is definately liberating. Or maybe it's just that I've never been bummed out by it.
How bizarre it must be for the religous teenage boy. Feeling guilty for masturbating. They believe God is watching them. Heck, if God was watching me I'd surmise that he'd be afraid I would've pulled the thing off by the age of 14! There's a much more serious side to this in regards to religous guilt, but I don't feel like going there right now. |

I had huge guilt about all things sexual, but my ex-girlfriend was very... um... persuasive. (*shakes head* pastor's kid... not mine.) I finished deconverting while we were together, but never mentioned it to her. By that time we had bigger problems.
My current girlfriend has known I am an atheist since this time last year, and while we occasionally have fights over it, it doesn't get in the way of our sex-life. |

Hmm. Sex... sex...
Is that something you do with another person? Refresh me, people. |

My sexuality is much, much healthier. Even approaching normal now. However, the sex is the same as before, because I wasn't getting any then, and I'm still not. But I don't feel guilt or fear for having been born with a libido anymore, which is a nice change, if I do say so myself.

Since I decoverted in 6th or 7th grade, and lost my virginity much later it is better since. And when I start having some sexual contact with someone besides the Sock Puppet of Love again it will be even better (I hope, I can't quite remember but I recall there was sweating involved).

from Philosoft
"Hmm. Sex... sex... Is that something you do with another person? Refresh me, people." Well, I, too, have a vague recollection of that word, somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind. If you get an answer, Philosoft, clue me in. |

My husband and I thought that getting married would help me overcome my sexual reticence. Nope. How about giving up religion? Nope, that didn't do it either. After about 10 years, we finally realized that I'm just on the far left-hand side of the sexual bell curve. To make life more interesting, he's on the far right-hand side...
Still, on the days when I don't feel like taking responsibility, I blame Catholic school sex-ed, what there was of it. |
