Includes the following gem 'Hegesippus writes that James was thrown from the ramparts of Jerusalem. When he failed to die from the fall he was stoned to death and buried in a tomb in the Kidron Valley. ' Sounds rather like Judas, who had to have two goes at killing himself. |

Hey! Whoever wrote this left out the bit about the victim being beaten with a fuller's mallet....

If am not mistaken,the box was not discoverd in a cave in oct 2002. It was owned by collector who bought in some time ago
from a dealer. bleubird |

It makes no mention of the fact that the patina was cleaned away from the letters. Nor does it mention that the letters of the second half appear to be done by someone with a vary poor understanding of the language. It contains versions of letters from several different periods and one greek letter. Also there is embossing on the other side, suggesting that the inscription was made on the back of the ossuary.
