I have all of the series on DVD, but not in my comp. And I think I have up to 15 and a few other sporadic ones on CD back at school, but those are dubbed I think. Since they are on DVD in the US, you should buy them. But if you don't want to go to www.neo-modus.com and download Direct Connect, and when you install it, connect to either the pyr3 hub or the animeplanet® (or any of the anime planet hubs), they have a wonderful selection of anime fansubs and DVD rips to download. So if it's digisubbed or on DVD somewhere, it's very likely that you will find it (pyr3 and animeplanet® usually have about 10tB of files shared each, most of which is anime). And once you finish the Evangelion series, you HAVE GOT TO download End of Evangelion, which is a "alternate" ending to the series, but there's arguments on over just what exactly they mean by "alternate."

A case can be made for viewing End of Evangelion as taking place during episode 26. I personally think so, but it's been a while since I've watched them together and it's finals so my evidence will be slow in coming.

Yeah that is my argument. Everything that happens in End of Evangelion seems to correspond with what happened in the last episode of the series.

Yup! My internet name is an amalgamation of the band name Slayer and the anime title Sailor Moon. I'm a heavy metal fan too. BTW. I saw End of Evangelion, but I liked the original introspective ending far better.

Anyway, I'm seeing the God shit less and less on the Foothill Transit busses, most of them being replaced with "Happy Holidays" during late December, but I'm still seeing that shit. At least MTA, the major mass transit provider in the Los Angeles area, has stayed secular, possibly because it also serves many liberal areas around Los Angeles, where such a hateful message would piss of lots of people.

Thank you, MTA!
Foothill, clean up your act!

Thumbs down

I was driving beind a COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority) bus here in Columbus last week when my incredulous eyes beheld a nativity scene with "Jesus - the reason for the season" painted on its rear. A second look revealed that the "ad" was sponsored by a group of local businesses (which I obviously will now go out of my way not to frequent).

COTA augments their budget by selling ad space on their vehicles, which leads me to an interesting question. What state-church conflicts arise when an agency that receives public funds also sells advertising? I'm actually not sure if COTA is a true gov't agency, or is merely subsidized but still private. Any legal-type folk out there have any opinions?

Any agency that sold advertising in a commercial manner would have to sell it to religious and non-religious alike.

You can test their commitment to the constitution by having your local Atheist group try to buy an ad.

We had a series of ads on buses around here that went something like "no more excuses...it's time to go back to church!" with an accompanying list of common "excuses". Needless to say, "There is no God" was not among them....

Aside from little things like that and the usual list of places Catholics can go for confession around the holiday season, there hasn't been much trouble that I've noticed. Apparently there's a stink between Catholics For Choice and some local bishops concerning an ad about condoms, but I haven't seen it.

Best excuse ever! Always valid too!

Anyways: Foothill Transit doesn't sell advertising on their busses. They've been posting these offensive messages on their headsigns -- which normally show the bus route number and destination, such as "480 LOS ANGELES" -- thus making that sanctimonious garbage harder to ignore.

I'm seriously considering getting the ACLU involved. I know the address of their local chapter, and I'm seriously considering writing to them on the issue. I am just as offended by this insidious message as a Jew would be by a headsign reading "HEIL HITLER"! Imagine what a stink that would cause if that ever happened!

Even if I were a believer I'd far rather know where I was going and how to get there than have G d bless America yet again.

Cool

I stuck it to Foothill Transit last night! After leaving my class, ending at 9:05 PM, I waited at the bus stop for the 480, a Foothill route, and sure enough, the "Enslaver Bless America" sign was up. I waved that bus on by, extending my middle finger as it drove away, and walked over to the stop for the 490, an MTA route. MTA has the good sense to keep that religious garbage off their headsigns, and they do post "Welcome Aboard" and "Go Dodgers!" at times.

The closest 480 stop to where I live is 1.5 kilometers from the house, while the closest 490 stop is 4.5 kilometers. I timed my walk, getting off at 10:15 and arriving home at 11:00, 45 minutes. But the extra half hour on foot was well worth it, walking down Cameron Avenue under the stars. My walking route took me through a rather nice area too. The 15-minute trek down Valinda, whereby I'd walk home had I taken the 480, really isn't as nice and takes me past a church with the dreaded "Enslaver Bless America" on a sign out front.

My many thanks to MTA for getting me home AND respecting my freedom FROM religion!
Besides, I need the exercise anyway!
