I don't want to seem like I'm jumping on anybody, this part just made me wonder.

Magus, are you referencing billions and billions of people that have existed over the years, or the current (roughly) one billion people that claim christianity?

Also, I realise that religion is not an exact science. However, didn't a lot more people believe the Earth was flat based on 'experience' and 'logic' than ever believed that the OT prophesied christ?

I've met very intelligent people that maintain religious beliefs I can't help from laughing at privately. I don't think it's anything we can help. There are intelligent Republicans, Democrats, Christians, Atheists, Pan-Theists, etc.

Can't we all just get along without shoving our beliefs down the throats of others? That's all some of us really want

Intelligence, or comparative lack of it, is demonstrated by the uses to which it is put. IQ tests, when adminstered under properly controlled conditions, may be indicative of intelligence, but that's all.

I was about to [Pontificate.--Ed.] comment upon what IQ tests "test," but I think the comments of a former MENSA member apply:

You may be a musical prodigy. Hell, you may be a super-genius too. But the fact that you are using those terms to refer to yourself clearly demonstrate your conceit, arrogance, and immodesty. I too could have shot back and said, "You know what? I'm a genius and a musical prodigy too!*" but at least I have some decency.

*Note: I do not really consider myself a musical prodigy nor a genius.

Magus, YOU are the only one here trying to equate "theists" with "biblical inerrantists". Yes, Biblical inerrantists are stupid, or ignorant (usually the latter, possibly both).

And what about other physicists, astronomers, mathematicians, astrophysicists etc. that can't deny a super intelliect or higher being planning the universe and life? Are nobel prize winners, and those "knighted" for their expertise stupid too?
If they are Biblical inerrantists, yes.

Here's a little exercise for you, Magus: find ONE winner of a Nobel science prize who is, or was at the time, a Biblical inerrantist.

So Magus trusts science to measure his I.Q. but not to measure the age of the earth. How convenient. Hey Magus- maybe the science behind IQ tests is based on "faulty assumptions." How would you know?

You know, it seems as if every time a theist feels his/ her intelligence is being questioned, he/ she comes back with this genius IQ stuff. You can't all be geniuses.

Exactly. Most Christians that I know do not believe in the flood, Adam & Eve, or any of that other BS. They take the good parts of the Bible and choose to use that as a basis for their belief. However, I do not believe that there is ANY Biblical inerrantist who can even be considered "smart", let alone a genius.

Let's see, science says the age of the earth is 4.5 billion, YECs claim 6000. Therefore a scientifically measured IQ near genius for a YEC would be ...
