Reality
What is reality? Who agrees that there is no such thing as reality?

Well, I would agree with that, but since I'm not real, what's the point?

Seriously, I like the way it was explained in a book I read. If you kick something (e.g. a rock), and it "kicks" back, then it's real.

Mageth,
HAHAHAHAHAHA....what if your not...."real". I think WAY to deep for my own good , I know this!! Seriously, I read this book that explained time, matter, reality, etc...and it made since. Time and reality are only perceptions. The reality that is "real" to me, may not be "real" to you... I started the topic just to give people something to ponder on and to also give us a GOOD laugh!! |

I think this is more of a philosophical question.
I believe reality exists because we define whatever it is we are experiencing as "reality". Whether we're brains hooked up to TV in some Matrix-esque labratory or we're supreme beings from another universe trapped in hell or whatever. This is our reality. A rose by any other name still costs more on Valentines day. |

I consider that to be the most loaded question ever.
I'll give the solipsist answer: Reality is the sum of all experiences that our brain manufactures. Data for experiences are drawn from memory, ill understood parts of the mind, and our five senses. A reality is always personal, it vanishes when we expire. |

Reality is that which would still exist even if you ceased to exist.

Reality is that which is logically persistent.
Perception of reality is the continous refresh of memory in a consistent way. Much like the electron beam that hits the phosphorus of a tv screen. It is irrelevant whether reality is manufactured or not (brain in a jar). As long as it is logically persistent it is real. |
