Disturbing post on Baptist Board
One of the scarier things I've read lately:

He wants to "take our country back and do away with the need of snide remarks about political correctness"? Great! Let's pass a law disallowing Christians to air their opinions. That'll take care of that little detail.
Surely, this person's fellow believers can see the slippery slope without the help of the heretics. [The foregoing statement was a reflection of its author's optimism.] |

That is scary. I'll bet it's an atheist troll - the "Mark Twain" user name seems a little suspicious to me.

I wonder, though, if maybe Mark Twain is just trolling. After all, why would someone who is really that much of a fundy adopt as a handle the name of a man who said things like, "If Christ were here there is one thing he would not be--a Christian"? |

Yeah, I smell a troll, too. But let's assume for a moment that he is the real deal, so I can ratchet up the nausea level: his profile lists his occupation as "teacher." <shudder>

It's possible he doesn't realise Mark Twain's real position on religion. Or maybe he thinks Mark Twain really was a Christian, and all those things people say are just heretic lies and scurrilous rumour.
I wouldn't put it past him, if the contents of that post are serious. And what about that assertion that his suggestions would be legal "with some changes to the constitution"? So would a lot of things. Murder could be made legal in the US "with some changes to the constitution", right? [ February 15, 2002: Message edited by: Captain Pedantic ]</p> |

He forgot to mention making women cover their heads in public and walk three paces behind the man.

"all of this will be legal after some changes in the constitution....."
<img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" /> Yeah, he's gotta be a troll. [ February 15, 2002: Message edited by: trunks2k ]</p> |

Well it's nice to see he didn't get much support from his fellow Board Members. At the very least, it shows that there are some reasonably intelligent people among the believers.
