IIRC, this is not the first "question to atheists" he has asked, only to remember something on the stove when its false presuppositions are challenged.

Well, it's only been six days. Perhaps there is a reasonable explanation for his absence.

No need to employ a probe. See

wtf, this thread is still going? haven't been here in a while.

well SOMMS, i hope you are mormon. You see they have spoken to god and found out a few new things.

Of course this person and the mormons have the right attitude, they not only get to see god, but get new instructions from him that supercede the old outdated christian ones. Hope you are 'plugged in' as well as they are, or don't you have the right attitude?

Talking

Perhaps SOMMS is studying the centuries of theology available in some large metropolitan library, diligently seeking answers both honest and reasonable to address all my objections. So, I won't be so petty as to proclaim his argument proven nonsensical, and SOMMS lacking the honor and honesty to admit he's whupped. (Besides, such a thing would be unseeming for a moderator, wouldn't it? )

What I will do though, is to state here that if SOMMS attempts to start another thread whose topic has any remote resemblance to this one, anytime within the next year, it will be locked, and a link added referring back to this thread. In the meantime, let us give it a rest. J.

I'm going to get on my high horse for a second, folks.

SOMMS has been trying to respond to all of your posts INDIVIDUALLY under very trying circumstances. All the insulting comments are just really a bad testimony to the general character level on this board. I mean, for all you know, the guy could have DIED, and you are all sitting around in your little mutual admiration society picking the guy apart.

Some of us don't live on our computers. (I don't even have a modem connection at home, I have to drive 15 minutes away to post). I've seen SOMMS detail to you folks several times that he has a very strenuous job. Under the circumstances, is it really unreasonable to be patient with him?

So the guy disagrees with you. This warrants the insults? Can't you hear a different position without insulting a person? If you win an argument, have you considered showing graciousness or, God forbid, CLASS?

SOMMS has attempted to answer all of your questions and I haven't seen him be disrespectful to you guys once. In the end, you may disagree with his argument and his life decision but that is no reason to belittle him. I know and am good friends with outspoken atheists. We go at it hard occasionally but we respect each other as people.

It is possible to disagree agreeably. It would be nice to see it attempted on this website at some point in the future.

Insults? What thread have you been reading, luvluv, and what vested interest do you have in making SOMMS a martyr? I believe SOMMS has something of a history of bailing on threads at inopportune times.
