The Koran: more peaceful than the BIble.
Now that I have everyone's attention, I'd like to say something. " !"
Many people have told me that Islam is a violent religion and that the Bible is much more loving. So, I'd like for all the people who believe this to locate scriptures from the Koran, post them here, and I'll try to match or beat it with a scripture from the Bible. GO! -Dean PS Of course, if you don't like either religion, try and post similar scriptures from each book. |

My Father can beat up your Father!
What difference does it make? They are both thugs. |

Here is Landover Baptist's contribution to the question;
landoverbaptist.org Excerpt; 2. Whose god orders the most violent plight for nonbelievers while on Earth? A. Neither. Neither god believes in violence. B. Neither. While both gods will punish nonbelievers on Judgment Day, neither prescribes harming them while on Earth. C. The Christian god because he ordered his followers to kill all those of a different religion, including family members, friends and even their cattle, whereas the Moslem god simply required the enslaving of nonbelievers. D. Both gods issued equally violent orders. [ October 09, 2002: Message edited by: GaryP ] [ October 09, 2002: Message edited by: GaryP ]
|

Actions speak louder than words. It is how the books are interpreted and acted on by their followers what counts more.
These "infallible words of god" do seem to be rather flexible though. [ October 09, 2002: Message edited by: Proud atheist ]
|

So it's true then? The Bible is more violent and brutal than than the Koran?
Wow, that was easy. -Dean |

I would bet that you didn't read more than 2 pages. maybe in a few places... 3. The Bible doesn't compare to that at all. At least you have Jesus saying "Love your fellow man" in some form or another. The argument that Christianity as a religion of love at least can be made from the bible. IMO, there is no way to do it with the Koran. It's a complete invention. DC |
