Koy,
Though I do not know you, I offer this: I frequent this site daily, though I am rarely compelled to offer a fresh perspective. At any rate, I offer myself and many others here you do know as evidence that from time to time even the simplest canines take one last look at the stick, turn, dig out of the yard, and run away for good. Serious discussions with people like yourself, such as Bill or SingleDad, helped me along the path to freedom. Without these fora, as you put it, and people like you to man them, I would most likely have remained a Christian to this day. That is a dreadful thought. Nevertheless, I respect how you feel. It is not healthy to constantly place yourself in the fire, especially in times when you're convinced that hope is lost. I do hope, however, that you might return when you become restless. Perhaps one day I will take my own medicine and contribute something in defense of my beliefs, and until then I have nothing ingenuous to offer you save one thing: you have made a difference. Thank you, Icarus |

Koy,
I’m more of a reader here, and only post occasionally. I enjoy your posts because I like how you cut directly the point of an argument. No dancing around. I think I understand what you’re talking about regarding what happens to your mind when you get caught up in these arguments, which I’ve done from time-to time. Maybe that’s why I limit my time here so much. Thanks for your clear thought and contributions, and good luck. |

Koy,
It sure has been nice having you around. Your decision needn't be so draconian. I sure hope that you will continue to offer your thoughts from time to time, but that's your call. joe |

Hate to see you go Koy,
Keep the damn cultists on the run, wherever you might be! I know what you mean though, it seems pointless arguing with folks who can't grasp the first things about reason or rational thought, and fanatically hold tight to their baseless beliefs and superstitious twaddle, like drowning men holding on to small rubber duckies, which can't possibly support their weight. Cheers, .T. |

You guys are incredibly gracious and thank you all. I just wanted to add this link to my last "thread to remember me by," if you'll indulge such pomposity one last time.
It's disjointed and inconsistent thanks largely to the efforts of luvluv and sotzo to derail the thought process (that and the fact I posted primarily from work and usually in one lengthy projectile vomit of consciousness and could only, therefore, focus roughly 80% on rerouting apologist sidetracks--yes, even from "beyond the sec web grave" I stab at thee ), I still feel it represents the "culmination" of my thinking and formulation around here. In short, I have no doubt now that the christian cult was entirely created by Roman "intelligence" operatives and that Paul was most probably their Oliver North. It's the only theory that makes complete sense out of all of the disparate pieces; especially when one starts from the real world and seeks to piece it all together, IMO (Jebus, look at this; I'm still going). Ok. That's it and again, thank you all for your kind words. Rainbow, I hope you don't mind if I take your words directly to heart. Seeing you awaken was, without question, the most "miraculous" thing I ever saw here and if you think I had anything to do with it, well, my friend, I'm going to run with that and let it fuel me pretty much to my grave, so, thanks. I bid you all a very fond farwell...for f*ck's sake! End of story. |

Oy Koy.
I know how you feel. I have to get away from this place every so often just to preserve my sanity. In fact, I’m kind of on a break now but I still lurk and I had to say something when I saw this topic. I, too, am one of your many admirers and have thoroughly enjoyed your theist-lashing posts… assuming, of course, you’re not part of the Roman conspiracy. |
