Default My Search For God Continues....

Good Day Everyone,
Before I begin, I need to make an apology. I left this message board about a month ago without warning because of a new job. When I left, many of the responses in my previous posts were left "unopened". If you would like for me to respond to the responses in those posts please e-mail me.

Well... here it is! The extended version of the 'My Search for God' report I wrote last year. If you find this report worthy or significant in anyway, please feel free to share it with others.

The Report Link

If you have any questions or comments pertaining to the report, I will be back daily to answer them in the link above.

Thank you & Take Care,
Tony S

Thumbs down A Modest Proposal

Dear Secular Future,
You conclude your article with:
Quote:
The burden of proof is not on the person who denies a claim. The burden of proof is on the person who is making the claim.
Question: Do you claim that you are obliged to dispose of your dead relatives instead of eathing them? Like you say, the burden of proof is on the one making the claim, so prove away.

Even tho I who make no claims on this issue and so have no burden of proof to bare (just the burden of carrying carcasses into the fire pit), my magnanimity impels me to offer the following rationale. Since half of humanity goes to bed hungry every night, don't you think we ought to do our part by not wasting all that protein? As the humanist you claim to be, surely you must agree. Insincerely, Albert Cipriani, The Traditional Catholic

Though traditional catholics symbolically eat god all the time, what does cannibalism (or rejection thereof) have do with believing (or not) in some god? I mean, what's the supposed analogy?

Smile Hi Albert!

Since half of humanity goes to bed hungry every night, don't you think we ought to do our part by not wasting all that protein?

Someone's been reading Heinlein's Stranger In A Strange Land, haven't they?

Albert, there are various public officials, police and doctors who will provide lots of proof that eating your dead relatives is a serious no-no. If you wish to dispute this, take it up with them.

Besides, I know that you have more sense than to try to shift the burden of proof from the claimant to the disputant. (Er... don't you?)

On a personal note- glad to see you back on II. I've missed sparring with you over pantheism- I've posted a lot on the topic since you left; if you're interested in reading them let me know. Jobar.

Dear Jobar,
You were one of my favorites. Please "show me the way" and post a link to one of your pantheism posts. I'd love to read your latest thinking. I've missed this place a lot. -- Sincerely, Albert Cipriani
