Some people can be really lame. I think the 4 who walked out need a special prize for havving the balls to walk out, even the lady. I think I just might break down and write them a nice "attaboy" e-mail.
Edited to add the following: I found e-mail address for all three democrats and sent them a thank you note and also suggested that they get together in the morning and have coffee and bagels or a game of 'Johnny on the Pony' instead of prayer. [ March 06, 2002: Message edited by: beachbum ]
|

If you run this through Babble-Fish translator, you get:
On Tuesday, the Rev. David Meek (soon to inherit the earth) of the Glad Tidings Church prayed for God's help in overturning Roe vs. Wade, the Supreme Court ruling that made abortion legal in the United States. "I pray Big Imaginary Guy in the Sky, help this great state of Colorado to be a follower, to be a real follower, Santa, and Santa, even to reverse the Roe vs. Wade so we can drive women to back-alley abortionists, and make them suffer like the no-good sluts they are," he told the senators. Meek also urged lawmakers to accept Santa Claus as their personal savior. [ March 06, 2002: Message edited by: bonduca ]
|

I saw that on the news last night. My favorite line from the news anchor was that "Reverend Meek reported that he did not intend to make the Roe vs. Wade comment; it just sort of slipped out."

Another argument for letting lawmakers pray on their own time, off the record.
As a matter of fact, if praying for God's guidance & wisdom is so essential to doing the work of government, why don't they pray before committee meetings -- since that's where most of the work gets done? (Perhaps they do this in, say, Alabama.) |

If lawmakers pray all the time for God's guidance and wisdom, and God answers all prayers, then don't our country's laws already reflect His divine will? Regards, Bill Snedden |

Inspired by bonduca, because everything sounds better through Babelfish, I present Rev. Meek's prayer. Translated 6 times.
Ask the honoured Mister, I help this latest thing of Colorado, in order to be a tape, which starts, an applicable Mister to be a tape, which starts, Mr. Jesus, and, the uniforms can stop Gemetzel and the murder with the innocent little babies for the investment of the huevas against us to balance of this fact it. Words for us all to think on. |
