Georgians: Please keep Chambliss out of the senate
The Senate race between Democrat centrist Max Cleland and Republican ultra conservative Saxby Chambliss is in a dead heat. Here is a quote from the Chambliss website.
Quote:
Of course many of you know that Ga already has an official policy that a moment of silence will be observed during the school day so the above statement is very misleading at best. This man has launched a brutal and misleading campaign against the more tolerant Cleland. At one point, he even insinuated that conservative Democrat, Zell Miller supported Chambliss over Cleland. Zell has since done some spots denying that he supports Chambliss but his negative adds must have convinced a lot of people because the Cleland lead has all but been lost. If you are a Ga. voter, please get out and vote to keep Chambliss out of the Senate. This race is one of a few that could give the Rs and their conservative Xian agenda control of the Senate if enough of us stay home on Tuesday. Wildy and I realized that he was a religious nut in the primaries. We are so voting for Max.

Chambliss tried to attack Cleland's patriotism in a recent commercial. This is amazing when you consider that Cleland left two legs and an arm in Vietnam.
I hope Chambliss goes down in flames. |

And here it is, Tuesday night, 9:00 pm and still we are not sure of the outcome. I'm biting my fingernails over this one. Chambliss scares the beejeebers outta me. And Max seems a decent sort, this country needs all the good guys it can get, this isn't jsut a statewide race, it will impact how things go nationwide...

I'm scared. Hold me.
Well, here we are, closer to a religous state than ever before. As Howard Troxler said in the St. Pete Times, maybe next time the dems will get a clue and realize they *must* get more votes, and by then, the rep.'s will have hung themselves with all this rope they now have. |

Well, now I'll be even happier to move my residency out of Georgia... I tried to tell my mom about the stuff in the OP over the phone. I think she still voted for the guy though... *shudder*
I also started talking to her about the boy scout situation... she was more sympathetic to that, just because she hates how they've overshadowed the girl scouts. After that conversation and my rant about gov't funding, she may be beginning to realize that I probably won't be coming back to the fold... Thanksgiving sure will be interesting. |
