Helen
I have seen no need to bring my debating tactics into this thread, or even to this forum, but I can tell you I can hold my own in any Christian atheist debate.

Because I don't want to derail a thread with scripture and empirical evidence for God I am assumed to lack courage, hmmmm how do I manage?

pz, Helen you are both wrong and are terribly mistaken, I am more than willing to take on either of you in any thread that questions "doctrine", I do it all the time at CF, about 5000 or so posts worth of earnestly contending the faith.

Now if you reread through this thread, you both will see plainly how I was taken out of context and how you have misunderstood my message.

This to me is a signal of mental deficiency and judgement.

Do you 2 enjoy judging people? I get a kick out of you accusing me of being judgemental when my statements have for the most part been a standing up for CF, and the mission statement of said forum.

It is you that saw fit to look past this and bring your judgements and assumptions about my nature to light, instead of focusing on the issue at hand.

Now anything I said about Conventional or traditional Fundamental Christianity may or may not reflect my own opinions, as I have never said either way, how can you assume?

And any statements I said on behalf of Fundie beliefs are true.

Are you going to deny that fundamental Christianity does not recognize homosexuality as being detestable, not only does it appear in the OT, it appears in the NT.

When liberal and/or new age Christianity decides to overlook these doctrines by claiming it isn't translated right or whatever, This outlook ceases to have a faith in which to base their objections on. IMO

So speak for yourself instead of parroting bigotry, while pretending it is the words of others.

How odd. So are you also suggesting that you lack faith? Or are you saying you reject liberal christianity? I wish you'd be a bit less evasive.

I think I've been plainspoken about my opinion. I do not accept biblical authority of any kind. I go further and state that the views expressed in the bible are archaic, narrow-minded, and bigoted. Hiding behind the bible does not excuse anyone's bigotry.

I am not intentionally being evasive, I am a fundamentalist (basicalist) Christian, and I do think that liberal new age Christianity is a dangerous variation from the bible and God's will.

I reject liberal Christianity, but do not reject anyone who participates in it, if you can understand that. I can reject a certain sect and still not be judgemental towards anyone personally.

I don't even reject the value of an atheist person. For example I do not reject you, although I may reject your beliefs.

This is the funniest thread I've seen in a while.

Has anyone checked this out? I wish all the pages were still available.

Default If You Have Set Yourself on Fire Lives!

Hi Badfish -

Chicken Girl has graciously recreated the entire "If You Have Set Yourself on Fire, Do Not Run" thread on a mirror site and there is a rumor that it might soon have a permanent home on the main site as well.

Badfish, could you read my post again? All I did was try to explain to you what I thought pz meant. I didn't offer any opinion of my own about you.

Since you brought it up, I am a little intrigued that you would 'earnestly contend the faith' on a Christian board but not here.

But - well, you go ahead and do whatever you believe the Lord would have you do. But please read my posts a little more carefully in future!

Some of the posts seem to be rather heated and some personal insults are showing up. Let's keep the insults out and try to tone it down a bit.

Thanks,

BH
