God didn't think things out?
I've been talking to some xian's about heaven and hell, and apparantly (with predestination) your afterlife position is secured. So no matter what you do here on earth, your position is assured. So the people who go to hell deserve to go to hell. I know of many great people who have no doubt gone to hell (if it exists!). And if god takes away our ability to feel sorrow for them and the like, the whole fairness of god is crap!! And whats the point of converting people if there afterlife place has been chosen already? Would a system set up by a GOD work this way? Has god created beings smarter than him perhaps?(us).Did God jump in to creation without thinking what he was doing??eg: judgement day arrives, we stand before god and say "what were you thinking?", he looks down at the floor and manages a "well, it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Any ideas, points? |

It hurts my head to think about the contortionist free-will apologetics that would be the likely response to your honest question, ax.

It does seem rather difficult to reconcile the doctrine of predestination, which follows from the assertion that God is omniscient, with the assertion that God is at the omnibenevolent. More like impossible, as far as I can see.

I actually believe in predestination but my version only deals with te first death and not the second.
The second death is when we physically die and this is the same for all of us (unless we are afraid to die for some reason). This makes eternal the period between the first and second death and unless you think that your persona can survive the existence of your body you won't have to worry about going to hell much after you physically die. |

Prayerful Preacher => Gar, another sinful human appointing himself judge over God. Haven't you heard God is above all judgement? That He is good even if He decides to destroy all life on earth? Let go of your too human standards. Unlearn, unlearn!
(back to) Infidel Devil => God and Goddess be with you. |

also, why do xians bother to spread the gospel? If your wittness is essential to someones salvation, what of the people who never hear it? They go to hell because Xians didn't do their job. But what if they do get a chance to go to heaven without hearing the gospel, then arn't there two ways to God? Why brave the foriegn countries and the bad ol natives when you can sit on your arse all day, knowing that everyone gets a chance in the end!! I think this topic might get transfered soon actually... |

No hell is religion specific. Edited to spell "wittness" correctly. [ September 02, 2002: Message edited by: Amos ]</p> |
