Religious funeral
Yuck!
Stupid minister has to ruin it for those of us who don't subscribe to his particular religion. I'm there to reflect on the life of the deceased and to offer my support for the surviving family members not "as a show of faith in our lard Jebus". I'm guessing the guy wearing the yarmulke felt the same way. To be fair, I didn't know the deceased, and I have no idea her stance on religion. I'm friends with her husband, but I don't know his stance either. Note to self: specify "no preaching at my funeral" in the Will (when I get around to writing said Will) |

Just came back from a funeral this minute myself.
Secular, no cross in sight. The celebrant was Christian though & gave everyone the choice between praying for his soul or thinking about his life. Quite acceptable in my book. I only knew the deceased's son, but the departed seemed to be a bit of a ladies man. The first funeral I've been to where the coffin was farewelled with "To all the girls I've loved" ... |
