Also, do you understand my analogy? Magus55, do you or do you not believe that there is such a thing as a crime of omission? |

How are we supposed to know that you're referring to OTHER clouds floating above ANOTHER planet out somewhere in ANOTHER universe? How are we to know if you're just referring to some dumb poetry you found on a Christian themed calandar from 1979 that you bought at a yardsale because you thought it contained valuable insight even though the calandar itself is over 2 decades old? How are we to know what you're talking about EVER when you're constantly telling us all sorts of bizarre off the wall stuff? Heres an idea for you. Why not try keeping your crazy (and totally unsuported by ANY evidence at all) beliefs to yourself if you don't want to be countered by sarcastic, snide, obnoxious remarks. And btw, Airplanes running over invisible kids playing on clouds is no more bizarre and unbelievable than resurrections, prophesy and the entire book of Revelations. |

Ludicrous, unprovable assertions just because you want to keep believing in a god? I'm not talking about Earth's clouds, Heaven isn't in our physical universe, its above it, i guess you could say its in another dimension of space technically. Could the Enterprise reach it if they hit Warp 10? |

Perhaps you missed this part of the post: "The girl was sexually abused, tortured and forced to pose for pornographic photos." You see this as a "little...thing"? I think if you read the Bible again you will find that your god overrides the free agency of people all the time. |

Perhaps an experiential argument against Biblical literalism:
"If you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you." (John 16:35) Are we to believe that when the girl was being raped and tortured, God stood ready and willing to help her, but because she didn't specifically invoke Jesus' name, he decided not to? I'm not arguing that the Bible is errant, that's not my point here. But at the very least, a straightforward, literal interpretation of the verse is either false altogether, or demonstrative of an indescribably petty legalism on the part of the divine. |

Furthermore, if you had bothered to read the link, you would have seen that Hindley repented and converted to Xianity. Therefore, according to Xianity, it is possible that Hindley is in heaven, but some of her victims are not. And that, imo, is even sicker. TW |

Oddly enough, Hindley was incarcerated in the prison only a few miles from where I live near Cambridge. She recently died, and was buried in an unmarked grave. During her final years she was a devout catholic, however, she never gave the police authorities the locations of all her victims - as far as I know she always refused to do so.
Afer the Hindley/Bradey conviction in the 1960's, the tapes of the victims were played on national TV. There was massive outrage at the actions of Hindley and Bradey. A couple of years ago Bradey was refused permission to commit suicide. Martin |
