LOL!
I feel exactly the same, but more nastily, about Michael Crichton.

After the book Jurassic Park 2 (same story, same characters, different names), I will never ever pay to see a movie made from a Crichton book again; nor will I ever buy a Crichton book again.

There is a movie that I absolutely hated, but I can't think of it at the moment. I know many will disagree with me on this, but my least favorite movie that I can think of is Men in Black. It just didn't make any sense.

I hated AI. I mean screaming, wanting-to-yell-at-Stephen-Spielburg, blackest darkest deepest hatred. Not least because it could have been so good, if not for the corny, stupid, stupid ending.

I don't like Blade Runner either, but this might have been at least partially because:

1) I've only seen it once.
2) I was forced to watch it for a class project (not the best way to see a movie).
3) I had no idea that it was supposed to be a science fiction movie before I began watching it, so I spent half the time confused and wondering if it was alternate universe, near-future, or what.
4) Two girls who sat on either side of me kept giggling over Harrison Ford (or whoever it was that starred in it).

Maybe if I were to see it again I'd like it better. But nothing will ever make me like AI.

-Perchance.

Gurdur why do you suggest that I must "substantiate" my dislike of any film here? Open a thread if you want to and I may or may not join it. This is not the place. Can you not handle the fact that another intelligent human being does not see the world in the same way you do, yet (gasp) both of you have valid perspectives?

I'm guessing you're not much of a fan of the movie "Sidekicks".

I didn't. I suggested you substantiate your negative view of the film, not your dislike of it.
There's a difference.

Whyever not ?

hhmmm, bit inappropriate, no ?
I'm asking you to justify your negative critique of the film ("...I think it sucks big-time and on multiple levels. ") The fact that you disliked it is a personal taste question; the fact that you think it's a bad film could use a bit more explanation, (gasp) , don't you think ?

Out of minor interest, I'll once again ask you:
why do you descend to this rhetoric in a simple difference of opinion ?

AI gets my vote. I told my wife after leaving the theatre that Steven Speilberg IS the devil (or would be if I believed in that crap.)

FOCUS with William H. Macy. Every, I mean every movie making cliche is traipsed across the screen in the 40 minutes I managed to sit through.

FACE OFF - Nothing to say. Just crap.

UNBREAKABLE - "Oh, I'm invincible. I'm so depressed. Waah."

THE SHINING - "Look everyone! It's me, Jack! I'm mugging again! Ooh, ooh! Here's my scary face!"

And I can tell that those of you who said HIGHLANDER II didn't see HIGHLANDER IV. II is genius by comparison. (And don't ask me why I saw all four of them, please.)

RIKI-OH: THE LEGEND OF RICKY - Laugh out loud bad. I think my favorite thing about the movie is the title. The character's name is Ricky Ho, but the American video misspelled it and it's now the classic Ricky Oh.

Jagged,

As soon as you accept the fact that your opinion is valid anytime except in regards to Blade Runner, we'll all get along fine.

Now just move along. Go on. Go on.

Shoo!
