I am new, anyone from the Washington, DC area?
Hello! How's everyone. I chose this forumn to start out in as I love discussing and learning more about evolution.
I am 33 going on 34 pretty soon. Female (in case the nickname didn't make that quite clear) and currently living in the Washington, DC region. I am fascinated by ethology and evolutionary biology. I have education in both these areas but am by no means a leading authority on evolution and all its complex mathematical equations. By the way, if any of your are also from the Washington, DC area and want to meet other "infidels" in the DC area you can check out our group at : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/religionfreedc/ We have a calendar there in which we post all the local events that are going on in the area that are geared towards atheists, freethinkers, infidels type of people or of interest to us. We also post events and social gatherings of non religious groups such as Washington Area Secular Humanists, Washington Ethical Society, National Capitol Area Skeptics, Campus for Freethought Alliance and much more. I always make sure to post about events, movies, lectures, exhibits, seminars and more that are of relevance to our kind of people and also that pertain to evolution, dinosaurs, genetics etc. We do and will occasionally have real world get togethers too. Please tell all DC area infidels that you know about it. I encourage any of you to set up a group like this for like minded people in your area. It helps to meet eachother so you don't feel so much like you are alone or a minority. |

Hey, I remember you. I posted something on the 'atheist and single' board recently, but it is now a moderated Yahoo group. Since posts have to wait for someone to approve them, the board won't get much activity.
Hope you're doing well, welcome to the SecWeb, and hope you enjoy it here! -Kelly aka goochs_dad (Yahoo profile) |
