Religion in the U.S
Here in Australia the stats say that church attendance has been falling steadally for decades, and my personal experience is that I hardly ever get preached to anymore ,exept by the Mormans ha ha,
So my question is how is it going in America? Do you guys feel like you're winning or just banging your heads against a brick wall? |

Here in the bible belt we are just keeping our heads above water. The xians so love skeptics here that they will gladly blacklist our businesses when they find out we are not xian. I hear it is better on the east and west coasts, but here the fundie preachers tell their followers that atheists are the spawn of the devil. One man who had a Darwin evolving fish on his car had his new car keyed, scratched up with a car key. But we do survive, and the xians who run everything here think themselves persecuted! Ain't it wonderful?

I live in VA and I don't see a whole lot of fundies, my cousin's church was rather fundyish, it was an assembly of god, but for the most part my friends are either atheist or don't care, and the christians I know are rather liberal (then again I'm in high school so how can they have sex and talk shit if they weren't liberal?)

Things aren't that bad up here in New England, I meet very few fundies here.

I guess I'm just not used to religious organisations interfering so directly in politics. |

It's not that bad here in Washington State. Although we have the lowest church attendance in the country so that may help. I'm Pagan so I'm thankful to have such a huge pagan community.
