Post Attention Damsel in Distress

Hello Tricia,

I want to know about your religion. Would you be so kind as to list all of the doctrines of the Baptist religion which you currently accept and believe?

Thanks,

David Mathews

Hello Everyone,

Where has Tricia, our resident 15-year old female Biblical critic, gone?

Has she evaporated into the mist? Was she just an optical illusion?

If anyone knows the beloved Damsel in Distress Tricia, please tell her that I am here to help her!

Sincerely,

David Mathews

Sorry I didn’t see this thread until now, and understandably because of the title.

Well, like I said earlier, I go to First Baptist Church. Some of our basic doctrines are as follows (and this is VERY basic): the Bible is the literal, inerrant word of God (EX. - the earth was created in six days by God); once saved always saved; baptism is not necessary for salvation, but it is an outward response of an inward decision.

I’ve never been asked to state the doctrines of my church before, so you will have to excuse my ignorance in this area.

If you have some specific questions about the doctrine of my church, go right ahead and ask away.

~Tricia

Oh, and would you be so kind as to not refer to me as a ‘damsel in distress’?

Dear Tricia, I am so disappointed. In six years of Christianity these are the only doctrines of your religion that you know?

No wonder why you are having such a problem with your faith. You don't have it.

Thumbs down

Hey now, I said no one has ever asked me that question before. Nor does my church's website contain them. If you have a specific question about a specific area, go for it.

Hello Tricia,

What does your church teach about morality.

Certainly your church must have doctrines regarding morality. What are they?

David,

I think Tricia has said that she is having a problem with inerrancy and unanswered prayer.

I really don't understand how a greater knowledge of the doctrines of her church could help her with those things.

I think you have miscontrued the reason for her current spiritual struggle if you think it is her inability to recite her church's doctrinal statement.

love
Helen

Hello Helen,

This is a conversation between myself and Tricia. I am only going to respond to posts written by herself.

I asked her the question for a reason and I expect an answer.

Love,

David Mathews
