Dunno about that, have you read the new articles about the power of prayer during medical procedues? Check out Dr. Larry Dosser's work on it.

(He has quite a few books on it.) Also, you might remember that "Western" medicine, until about 150 years ago, (it was actually less than that), involved things like blood letting to get rid of the "bad blood" in the body. So saying Western and Eastern is just free association. Japanese medicine is "Eastern", and as far as I know, doing pretty good. I think it's "holistic" versus "conventional", as the more appropriate terminology, as some Western doctors now use a holistic approach.

As it concerns Western versus Eastern approach, an Eastern doctor is more likely to outline an actual program for you to do, which is what people like. We'd much rather be spoonfed than actually do it ourselves. A Western doctor will generally just give comments like, "Exercise more, stop smoking, eat less salt, cut down on sugar".

I can say as a personal testimonial that in the two years since I began going to Chinese doctors, eating healthy (a lot of traditional Chinese foods, fruit and vegetables), abstaining from alcohol, and practicing meditation and tai chi, I have not gotten sick one time -- not even a little bit sick. When I was growing up, I used to get sick about 3 times a year, which I feel is about average.

I am a Chinese who has spend the past 3 years studying in Britian. I am curious as to what you mean by healthy traditonal Chinese food because (maybe I am reading what you wrote wrongly) you seem to imply that the Chinese Cusine has certain healthy foods which cannot be found in the Western diet.
