Default Abraham and polytheism

I'm reading a voluminous work entitled "Anacalypsis" and it speaks on Abraham being polytheistic, which is not a new concept, however I was wondering if anyone cared to speak on this topic. Like several characters in the Bible, the historicity of Abraham is suspect, however the popular notion is that had he existed, he'd have worshipped more than one god.

Any comments?

Joseph Wheless had this to say about Abraham:
Quote:
Abraham, when he first comes to our knowledge, was, as we have seen, a nomadic Chaldean Semite, of "Ur of the Chaldees," speaking, of course, only the Chaldean language. Naturally, like the rest of his people, he was a heathen or pagan. He came with his family into the land of the Canaanites, descended from Canaan, one of the sons of Ham, another son of Noah, to follow the Scriptural genealogies.

Default Of Course

abrahams god is polytheistic, that is where the word elohim (not elowah) comes from.

The christian God is a polytheistic god and christians do not face that fact,so they use the trinity concept to try to explain their polytheistic god in a monotheistic way.

.
it is hard on English speaking people to understand this but I will try my best:

the plural tense in word ELOHIM (plural of EL, or Eloi) does not mean that God is too many
God is one

in all semetic languages , they use so called: the plural of majesty or the language of Kings

in all semetic languages , when a king write a letter he won`t say: I AM the King such and such.....

he would say: we are the King ....

when God in the holy scriptures speak of himself in Hebrew or Arabic (or aramic , or any semetic language) he addresses himself in such a majesty form , the ROYAL form he deserves it

so he says: WE CREATED the MAN , for example , meaning : I created the man

the plural Elohim does not mean GOD IS 3 , 4 or 125

blessings

let your name be blessed for ever my Lord

Default maybe

You should read strongs concordence, elohim is a plural of elowah.

If god was a elowah that would be understood, but they are not.

Or maybe its plural because, gasp - God is implied as a trinity from Genesis, where the plural pronouns, us and our are used.

Pride. I doubt many Jews even notice the trinity in the Old Testament. They see the trinity only as a Christian concept, and are too stubborn and blind to see that the Trinity is present through the whole Bible.

There is no "royal we" in Hebrew.
