Post Infidels.org under attack!!

There is a thread in <a href="http://arstechnica.infopop.net/OpenTopic/page?a=frm&s=50009562&f=28609695" target="_blank">this</a> forum about our very own infidels.org.

Just thought I would pass along this interesting tidbit.

Cheers,
Sir Drinks-a-Lot

Gee, and argument filled with the usual cop-outs:
Quote:
"These passages are not to be taken literally..."
"This may just be a translation issue..."
"This is probably an error in copying the manuscripts over time..."
"This is poetry and need not be precise, much like no one expects Jack Frost to be scientifically precise in his poems."
"Some manuscripts read Michal but some read Merab. So there was a copying error somewhere along the way."
"Probably a copying error somewhere along the way."
"Probably a scribe error."
"These are metaphors"
"This is a metaphor"
"Obvious metaphor"
the god-works-in-mysterious-ways line of logic:
Quote:
"This is only a conflict if you quantize God, who can not be quantized..."
and some flat-out admissions that the bible is just book like any other book, written by people:
Quote:
"what the Hebrew people saw Rabbits doing certainly could have been viewed as chewing the cud in their culture."
"1) goeth upon all four could have been a local term for things that crawl low opposed to things that are higher up- kind of like "white person" is a local term for someone with pink skin.
2) Some insects (Praying Mantis, for example) walk on four legs and the other two are not used for locomotion. This would make sure there was no confusion.
3) Moses didn't know how to count very well."
"The sermons and other sayings of Jesus are what the authors recorded long after the fact- or in the case of Luke, researched after the facts."
Yeah, I'm convinced.

Oh, by the way, this probably belongs in other forum...
