I've stated what money several times already. Don't you actually read what I wrote?

It was the families who let the money be put to this use. They wanted a lasting legacy.

A recent conservative Prime Minister (MulRUINey) wanted to dismantel the program and use the money for "other things". Talk about stealing candy from children.

It is sort of like when the Republicans want to get rid of Social Security to pay for their tax cuts for the rich.

your link didnt make it sound at all voluntary.

from the link it seems that there was a fund set up with taxes that gave money to all children. then after time passed they decided to quit giving the money to people with children if they were "wealthy" now its just a fund for poor people with children.

where do you think all this money comes from???

from your cite

"ensure that childrens basic needs were met. "

I guess the government thinks that candy and comic books are basic needs then?

Lets try this then, please provide a single link to some info that says that this fund is paid for with "canteen funds" whatever those are.

I still dont understand why you post here if you cant handle debate?

I almost forgot. My grandmother kept the original letter sent out when it first started which stated what it was to be used for. She had the letter for many years and would take it out to show people what it actually said whenever the government wanted to change it or say that it was for something else. Over the years people started to use FA for other things anyways, but as I had stated the original purpose was as an allowance to Canadian children.
