In Krishna story very few of the points match. Most importantly the mother was never a virgin (Krishna had 7 siblings) and the avatar could care less about salvation. No Hindu would ever tell such a story, which means the source would have to be a Christian one.

Also the only place where I actually read this story in print is in a book written by a Christian preacher (sorry don't remember the name of the book, but it was published in 1906).


Dr. X, Krishna was shot by an archer who was called 'jara' literally meaning old age. According to some versions his body then turned to a serpent which went into the sea.
