"The Battle Over Evolution Is(n't) Over"
The above is the title to a Part 2 feature in ym local newspaper. I have yet to read it, and when I do, I'll return to this thread with either a thumbs up or a thumbs down and a letter to the editor (maybe.) Until then, you can read it with this link:

Of course, those morons will keep fighting for if they don't or lose out to the theory. Then the Bible, Koran and Torah, which taught about the Adam and Eve and the original sin, will be a bunch of total bullshit in the eyes of modern people.

I work for a non-profit organization that employs many people with biological science educations, including myself, but we also have a stray fundie working with us. So, when the school board debate came up on the noon news while we were having lunch, of course our resident cretinist had to share his views with the rest of his sane co-workers.
After the ensuing exchange (I'm sure you can imagine) one of my co-workers made a good point to me - why bother? - he has made up his mind and you're not going to change it. I don't have children, but if I ever do, and this nonsense is incorporated into the already shitty public school system, I certainly will be educating them elsewhere. If the ignorant masses want to remain ignorant, why should I care? I'll know what I know and so will my children, and they'll be educated - period. |

I really do love America, but man sometimes I wished I lived in a country where I did not have to put up with so much of this crap

I just read the March 11th edition. Well done.
My favorite quote: Quote:
That is an admission that he is clinging to the Bible with white knuckled fervor and deliberately twisting evidence that contradicts his worldview. I thought he was trying to dupe others but it seems that he is practicing self delusion as well. I may save that statement to chuck at cretinists whenever they claim that their "scientists" are examining evidence "objectively". |

Tie it together with this one: Answers in Genesis founder Ken Ham is more adamant. "Nothing will be found out there in observational science that contradicts what the Bible is teaching," he says. and your case is closed. Of course, the above may be correct because the Bible teaches us nothing about "observational science". |
