Red face

How disturbing is it that this Church would rather have one of it's congregants date a convicted, violent felon spending time in a maximum security prison than ANY other member not of that Church, even a very nice, respectful atheist?

It just boggles my mind that anyone would suggest dating an incarcerated felon is an acceptable alternative for a woman!

Scary, really .... REALLY scary! This should be the 1st (among many) clues that this Church is a cult. Run ... run like the hell they condemn you to. If this is what their God wants then He is certainly a tyrannical, evil bastard.

Maybe the cult, er, church needs him to help raise some money for them after he's released.

I'm debating which one (church or bank robber) is the worse bad guy here.

I don't understand this. It's very disturbing yeah. Very, very, very disturbing. I never had to deal with freaky religious people like that. I'm not sure we have any of them around here. It's so weird and unfamiliar, so I have a tendency to disbelieve it when I read about it. It's all just so fanatical and self-destructive.

I agree with you what she should leave that church. I don't know if she can face the realities about both her "boyfriend" and her "religious community" at the same time tho. If she's anything like other women with low self-esteem I know (and am), losing both at once could seem like the collapse of her entire world. I agree it's the best path to happiness and well-being in the long run, but it would be unlikely to feel that way for her for a while.

She's already spending a lot of time on her "boyfriend" that would need to be filled with something new if she ended their relationship. She probably spends a lot of time with people from her church too. That's a lot of empty free time to find something to do with if she leaves that too. Big void to fill.

She deserves affection from better sources. A puppy and hobbies would easily qualify as better.

Christians don't seem to be very good at providing Heaven on Earth to over-weight women. She should try dating non-practicing muslims from East Africa. Men from Senegal really seem to appreciate well-envelopped women. Well, that's what I've been told!
