copyright infringement by AIG???
If you check the recent AIG article about last week's Doonesbury strip that lampooned Dubya's scientific illiteracy, you'll see that the Doonesbury strip is reproduced in its entirety (still there as of 4/28/03 22:00PDT), apparently without permission from the publisher. Interestingly enough, a B.C. comic strip that's reproduced in the AIG article is accompanied by a statement that reads, "By permission of Johnny Hart and Creators Syndicate, Inc."
So I guess this is the standard of conduct for creationists -- When reproducing copyrighted anti-evolution material, be sure to ask the publisher for permission. But when it comes to reproducing pro-evolution material, it's fine to ignore copyrights and reproduce it without permission. You can find the article in question at http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs...6president.asp (edited to fix a typo or two...) |

Interesting that they attack Trudeau for implying that Bush is a creationist.

It's funny how they completely belittle other Christian's interpretation of the Bible with numerous articles and comic strips, saying that Christianity is pointless without a literal interpretation of the Old Testament, and then go ahead and prove their version of Christianity wrong.

Has anybody tried contacting either Trudeau or his comic strip distributor to alert them to an apparent copyright violation? (Although I have to say that AiG's use of the strip may fall under "fair use".)

I don't get it
What's so pro-Creationism with that BC strip? I just don't get it.
Well, anyway, good night. |

Remember what AiG did when Scientific American sent them an email asking that they remove their "rebuttal" that reprinted one of SciAm's articles in its entirity? They cried persecution. I think the purpose of this commentary is to bait another "warning shot" they can whine about.
From AiG's point of view
I hope their childish ploy fails and they don't get a notice. |
