Standing Up for Eusebius
I have read a lot of slanderous posts calling Eusebius' honesty into question. I think this totally unwarranted based on his record. I can only assume it is based on Americans ignorance of the subject and is totally at odds with the world perception that he was the epitome of honesty in his profession.
Not only did he famously once violently argue the defenders case to the referee when awarded a crucial undeserved penalty, but he also finished top scorer in the 1966 World Cup even though Portugal were beaten by eventual champions England in the quarter finals. Poison dwarf Maradonna would be a more fitting target for your insinuations. He was a right cheating bastard. Boro Nut [ August 09, 2002: Message edited by: CX ]</p> |
