Post Editorial: Creationism doesn't belong in biology class

This editorial appeared in the Columbus(Ohio) Dispatchthis week.

This of course drew out the cretinists:

Thumbs up

I clicked on "Evolution isn't fare for classroom, either" and this came to my eyes:

Quote:
In order for scientists to maintain that something has been proved, it must be observable and repeatable. If it is neither, it remains a hypothesis. Creation science and evolution have adherents within the scientific community. More tend to embrace evolution, but that does not negate possibilities espoused by scientists who reject evolution.
First off, they demonstrate a misunderstanding of science by stating that because evolution isn't proven it is a hypothesis. Then they go on to state that unless 100% of the scientific community believes in something, then it is just a "world view." But shall we not teach that the Earth is a sphere either? And that it rotates around the sun? We have not proven that these things are true (we only have empirical evidence to back them up), and not 100% of scientists agree with it. (Yes, there are still a few nutcase scientists out there.) Therefore, we should not teach about Copernicus's and Galileo's "world view."

How about the link saying that science and religion must be separate?

The guy talks about no evidence for the "origin of life" in conjunction with evolutionary theory.

He puts a "Dr." in front of his name.

I certainly hope he is not a biologist.
