Make up a God and tell us what he/she is like.
If possible I would like atheists to respond to this.
I am doing this as an expiriment. I'ts not a trick question or anything just make up a god you would like to be around or explain why you wouldn't conjure one up even if you could I will explain after a couple days Thank you |

Larry, God All-Powerful:
Omnibenevolent Omniscient NOT Omnipotent (as this would introduce a contradiction), but capable of interacting with the world in a limited number of ways: 1. Capable of informing humans as to aspects of reality he has come to know through omniscience. 2. Capable of informing humans as to what course of actions will lead to the 'best' outcome, based on his normative value of 'best,' which in turn is based on his omnibenevolence. That's an ideal deity that fits nicely with what we observe in the world. |

How about a god who is not necessarily omnipotent or omniscient (who said that gods had to have these qualities, anyway?), but a god who is good and tries to help humanity the best that it can.
If such a god were to exist, I would not spit in its face and fly into a rage like I would if the xian god were to exist and appear before me. Sincerely, Goliath |

Darth Dane,
Regarding my description of a non-omnipotent, non-omniscient god, you said Quote:
(Of course, it is a contradiction to be omnipotent, since this brings in the "can god make a rock so big he can't lift it?" type paradoxes). Sincerely, Goliath |

As a long-time game master of pencil and paper fantasy role playing games (or GM of PnP RPGs ), I have made up entire pantheons. Each deity has a specific "area of responsibility". I usually set it up that the deity's ability to futz with the "mortal realm" is directly related to the number of active worshippers they have, and had pseudo-scientifical reasons for why they couldn't just do what they wanted. I wanted the players to do things for themselves, not wait for a deity to save their behinds.
Only once did I come up with a monotheism, and I didn't like that deity, either. |

Impossible. The xian god is defined to be omnipotent and omniscient.
(Of course, it is a contradiction to be omnipotent, since this brings in the "can god make a rock so big he can't lift it?" type paradoxes). Is this impossible by your(or those who supprot this) standards? What if God was in contradiction, ala yin/yang which forms the Tao What if, what we see and understand as a contradiction is not a contradiction to God? DD - Love Spliff |

And what if I have three heads, but no mouths?
