The funniest thing is that Ed's claim came in direct response to my posting the link to that very online textbook! Now if only he'd read it before making that claim...

Dear Oolon and Zetek,
Great link to the on-line book! I'm reading it avidly as it comes off my printer. There is a value in the naive assertions and questions posed by creationists, they make one re-examine the basis of modern evolutionary theory in rigorous detail. This is particularly useful to me as we recently cloned the blood coagulation genes from puffer fish and lamprey and used the sequences to reconstruct the evolution of 'an irreducably complex' system and the genomic evolution of vertebrates. |
