Default I think I'm gonna be sick........

Here are a few excerpts from an article in my local paper about 'Alive'- a Christian music festival that was held recently in Ohio.

"....Alive replaces the hedonistic rituals of secular music fests with appealing alternatives."

"....In tent A, youth preacher Josh Harris, author of 'I Kissed Dating Goodbye' was giving a talk entitled 'Half a Poison Pill' exhorting the faithful in attendance to scrupulously examine the entertainment they choose for themselves and their families.
Just next door in another tent, Matthew Manning of Lighthouse World Evangelism in northern California described his 'deliverance' from a homosexual lifestyle and a miracle cure he received from the HIV virus."

"....The merchandising tent at Alive was onr of the most consistently crowded venues throughout the day. It offered a football field of Christian CDs (The bands Demon Hunter and Third Day were top sellers)...."

(describing some of the T-shirts for sale) ...."Instead of Tommy Hilfiger, a shirt read: 'Ask Jesus, HILFIGER it out for you.' Instead of Got Milk? the shirt read 'Got Love?' 'I Mosh for Jesus', and the ever alarming 'Friends Don't Let Friends Go to Hell' were both popular.
In one corner of the 'merch' tent were a dozen boys furiously engaged in a Magic-like card game called Redemption. Matt Warren, 11, of Knoxville, TN was the tournament's judge. 'It's like those other card games, except that in Redemption it's heroes from the Bible versus villains from the Bible, and the object is to save souls,' he said."

I see, no matter what face you put on it, capitalist, materialist america is going strong.

If only they had the truth writen on the shirts.

"hate for jesus"

"we use jesus to make ourselves richer"

I have an idea, we should do to S&M what they did to games like magic. Just change the name. Instead of S&M, its "Gods old time Lovin" and that should keep it from being a supposed sin, right?

Thats a rather odd reaction coming from an evangelical Christian such as yourself. Don't you put your hands in the air while listening to your favorite inspirational Christian albums?
