Post I love Jerry Falwelll

Falwell is truly a great guy. This is a man who NEVER fails me. He is always consistent and is always very clear on what he's saying. He must be a very content and happy man because he shows absolutely no signs of worrying about the things he says. There seems to be no worrisome feelings about hypocrisy, being out of touch with the modern world, the basic rights guranteed by the Constitution and so on and so forth.

What brings on my rekindled admiration for Mr. Falwell?
"It's obvious that Mohammed was a man of war and a terrorist, while Moses and Jesus were men of peace and love..."

I've never read the Koran(Qoran, Quran, Q'uran?) and I'm not really familiar with Mohammedism (I prefer Bob Ingersoll's word), but I have read both the old and new testaments. I wonder if Jerry has?

I wonder if it would indeed be nice to walk through life without one iota of introspection. Maybe life would be easier to just be some kind of walking stupid quote machine.
At any rate, I look forward to Mr. Falwell's next set of comments.

The capacity of Jews and Christians to ignore the gruesome teachings of their own Qur'ans has never ceased to amaze me.

"...not peace, but a sword". HE said it!

Falwell is in a class of his own as a poster child of fundamentalism. TV media loves him as he adds color and sizzle to their programs.

The Rev. is still undaunted even though his major efforts have run into trouble of various sorts:

Moral Majority: A non-starter and subsequently abandoned.

Liberty University: Teethering on bankruptcy (last time I checked).

Way back, he tried to block nomination of Sandra Day O'Connor as Supreme Court Justice (on the ground of her possible pro-choice sympathy). This drew a sharp retort from even conservative President Regan. Regan said the man deserves a kick in his pants.

But kick in his pants or not the beaming Rev. never misses an opportunity to distribute pearls of wisdom on TV. Aren't we all fortunate?

Barry Lynn of <a href="http://www.au.org" target="_blank">AU</a> gets a lot of mileage out of Falwell. Who could forget the <a href="http://www.au.org/churchstate/cs3997.htm" target="_blank">attach on Tinky Winky</a>, the purple teletubby, for being gay?
