bought my first "creation science" book
this one
it's hilarious read the first 30 or so pages, and as you might expect, there's no actual science in it yet, but mostly it's the author ranting about "atheistic evolution". Oh yeah, did you know that evolution is responsible for "war, Nazism, lawlessness, child abuse and abandonment, infanticide, ddivorce, homosexuality, pornography, abortion, euthanasia, and many other social ills" So sad, yet strangely interesting to read. It was only 2 bucks at half-price books (2 bucks too expensive, hehe), so I figured I'd give it a chance. Don't worry though, I bought a biology textbook (5 bucks!) and "The Selfish Gene" to provide some balance... [ September 04, 2002: Message edited by: jdawg2 ]
|

You didnt have to by a biology book as well to balance it out. The creationist book has no weight. =)

I bought a copy of Icons of Evolution for full price once. I was so disgusted seeing it in the science section of a bookstore that I bought it just to get it out of the shop. Had a growl about it to the person behind the counter - it was the only evolution book they were carrying. Glad to say that the next time I went in there it hadn't been replaced - but I'm keeping an eye on them.

I didn't have to buy my creationist book. Ask any Jehovah's Witness for their book How did we get Here, By Evolution or Creation? They'll give it away for free, if you don't mind taking their Awake and The Watchtower Tracts as well.

I have Ken Ham's "The Lie: Evolution" and Morris and Parker's "What Is Creation Science?" on my bookshelf. Two of the classics. And I have "The Handy Dandy Evolution Refuter" somewhere as well. My favourite is "Dinosaurs, The Bible, Barney and Beyond" by Phil Phillips. Sort of strange book that goes into the standard creationist spiel abouts dinosaurs but then looks at the dinosaurs in the media from a christian fundamentalist.perspective (book was written about the mid 90s when Jurassic Park was all the rage). Get the whole set, collect them all! Xeluan |

I have a growing collection of creationist books that I have bought for about the same reason as Xeluan gave. Too few creetos give references in posts to be able to locate original literature.
However, I get them all remaindered or used, os as not to give up any roalty payment to the bastards. |
