Divine Intervention
2002 Games Got Help From God, SLOC Boss
Says Thursday, October 3, 2002 THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PROVO -- Olympic planners once threw a champagne toast to quell a notion that Salt Lake City's Winter Games would be the "Molympics," overly influenced by the Mormon church. Now, a top Olympic chief, who is also a member of the LDS church, has declared that divine intervention was at play during the 17-day event. "During the Games I am certain, absolutely certain, we had a divine hand with us," said Fraser Bullock, president and chief executive officer of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee. I thought I saw god hovering over the bleachers. Wasatch |

Shouldn't that technically be the Greek gods? After all the Olympics were held to honor them. Just a question...
By the same tolken, shouldn't the christian god be upset at his followers that they were promoting worship of "other gods" right in his very stronghold? Simian |

I guess God was also behind the shady dealings in order to get the Olympics in SLC also.

I guess god missed the '72 Olympics in Munich. Oh well, I guess the old fart can't be expected to make every sporting event.
